Jack Ma

He grew up poor in communist China,failed his college entrance exam twice, rejected by Havard 10 times and was rejected from dozens of jobs,including KFC, before finding success with his third internet company, Alibaba.

Jack is now worth an estimated $25 billion, which includes his 7.8% stake in Alibaba and a nearly 50% stake in payment processing service Alipay.

His real name is Ma Yun and he was born on the 15th of October 1964 in Hangzhou, China. He became a tour guide in 1972 in exchange of English lessons where he got his nickname "Jack". In 1988 he graduated from Hangzhou Teachers Institute. He used the internet for the first time in 1995 and he was hooked, the first word he searched online was "Beer" and was surprised to find that no Chinese beers turned up in the results. It was then he decided to start an internet company for China. In 1999 he founded Alibaba with his 17 friends. In 2013 he stepped down as the CEO of Alibaba staying on as executive chairman.

And it was that story that ispired me to write about him, his persistance just "WOWED" me
